DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A SECURED ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM – Complete Project Material

The transition from traditional paper-based testing to digital assessment environments has introduced significant concerns regarding academic integrity and data vulnerability. This project explores the Design and Implementation of a Secured Online Examination System, a comprehensive platform engineered to facilitate remote assessments while mitigating risks of examination malpractice and unauthorized data access.

The system incorporates a multi-layered security architecture, featuring Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for identity verification, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to define distinct permissions for students and administrators, and Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) to safeguard examination content and results. To ensure the integrity of the examination process, the application implements active monitoring features, including browser-lockdown capabilities to prevent unauthorized external navigation and randomized question-shuffling algorithms to minimize collaboration among candidates.

Developed using a modern full-stack framework, the system provides a scalable and responsive interface tailored for various devices. Evaluation of the implementation focuses on system reliability under concurrent user loads, the effectiveness of the security protocols in blocking intrusion attempts, and the accuracy of the automated grading module. This research demonstrates that a well-secured online examination system not only streamlines administrative workflows but also provides a credible and resilient framework for academic evaluation in an increasingly digital educational landscape.
